I'd rather do lunch than an assignment - Questioning.

This resource is aimed at students in the last year of primary school, and into secondary school. A set of five resources are planned, with 'Questioining' being the first in the series. The resource shows teachers and speech pathologist how to help students enhance their assignment writing skills by fully understanding the assignment question.

Many students are confounded by the heavily worded, vocabulary intense and grammatically dense structure of assignment questions. No wonder students with language and learning difficulties often think teachers are deliberately trying to 'trick' them. "I'd rather do lunch" helps students break down the assignment question into manageable chunks and fully appreciate how each aspect of the assignment question relates to other parts.

It is a strategies-based cognitive/linguistic approach to assignment writing, using a number of graphic representations, to help students plot out the question, in order to fully understand the language of the question and exactly what is required in their response.

Other titles planned for this series include:
Planning
Researching
